Weekend Showcase: Bill’s Spring Show
Bill’s Gun Shop and Range in Robbinsdale will hold their spring show featuring more than 50 manufacturers. There are free seminars and educational classes held through April 7.
“This is our 2019 spring Shooter’s Show and it’s a big deal,” said John Monson, the owner of Bill’s Gun Shop and Range. “We have 50 plus manufacturers being represented on 40 different tables. So one rep might have two or three different lines but we have a broad, broad line of holsters, to lights, to ammunition, and of course firearms.”
Bill’s cleaned out lower area classrooms to accommodate industry representatives who will be there to answer questions. Shoppers can check out samples on the range for free.
“The factory rep will take your drivers license, box up the gun you want to demo, and you’ll take it to the range,” explained Monson. “Once you’re on the range you’ll wait in line, the range officer will assign you a lane, maybe sell you a target for a dollar or two, and a box of ammo, and then you’ll go out and shoot. So the range is free. The rental is free. You just buy the ammo.”
Novice shoppers
If you’re a novice and don’t know the first thing about firearms, Monson says this is an opportunity where you can learn more.
“For those very novice people, we will have what I call the range trainer. We’ll have range safety officers on the range at all times. We’ll have the guys behind the counter working with you. We’ll have the reps telling you about the firearms. If you just need someone to get you started, I’ll have one of our firearms instructors standing by that can take you out, get you through the first process till you are comfortable, and then let you enjoy the rest of your time,” said Monson.
There will also be free seminars and educational classes all throughout the weekend. Bill’s spring Shooters Show is going on now through Sunday 10am to 5pm.
