Wayzata Student Council Advisor Receives National Award
Sue Iverson retired from teaching this spring. For many years, she was the student council advisor for Wayzata High School. Iverson recently received a prestigious national award for her efforts. She received the Warren E. Shull Adviser of the Year Award from the National Student Council.
She is the first student council adviser from Minnesota to win the award. The award is given to the student council adviser who “demonstrates exemplary character, leadership and commitment to young people.”
Iverson worked at Wayzata High School since 1986 until retiring this past school year. She was the school’s student council adviser and gifted and talented coordinator. She also worked as a math teacher and dance coach.
