Wayzata Central Middle School Completes Auditorium Renovation
The auditorium at Wayzata Central Middle School is back in business after eight long months of renovations.
The school refreshed the auditorium by updating the seats, carpeting, foyer, stage floor and bathrooms. It also gives teachers easier control of the sound and lights.
The theater upgrades were part of a $13 million renovation that upgraded the entire school.
“I think with anything that we to do in the education system, we want to prepare our students for whats next,” said Dennis Joslyn, auditorium manager with Wayzata Public Schools. “If we are still teaching our students with equipment in the 80s and 90s, we’re not preparing them for high school, college or when they move out to the real world.”
School staff say ADA improvements for wheelchair seating were also made.
Wayzata East Middle School also updated its performance stage. Wayzata West Middle School will get its turn this summer.
