U.S. Rep. Omar Honors Robbinsdale Mayor in Congressional Record
Robbinsdale Mayor Bill Blonigan received a surprise – a congressional surprise – this week courtesy of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Omar congratulated Blonigan for his 44 years of service to the city, first as longtime council member and now as mayor.
“We are all so grateful for everything you have done to contribute to this beautiful town. I submitted a recognition of your service in the Congressional Record. It will live in the Library of Congress for generations to come,” said Omar, speaking before the city council at the Oct. 1 meeting.

Blonigan is retiring from the council at the end of the year.
