Two Candidates File for Golden Valley Mayor, Three for Council
Anoka-Hennepin, Hopkins and Wayzata Schools Also Have Seats Up in November Election
With the candidate filing period closed for the upcoming November election, voters in Golden Valley will have two choices for mayor and three for city council.
Roslyn Harmon and Gillian Rosenquist have filed for the mayor’s race.
Rosenquist is currently a member of the Golden Valley City Council.
Current Mayor Shep Harris did not file to run in the upcoming election, so there will not be an incumbent running for mayor.
Candidates Jean Kidd, Maurice Harris and Sophia Ginis are running for Golden Valley City Council. Voters will select two of the three to represent them on the council.
Ginis and Harris are incumbents.

Voters in the Wayzata School District will select four board members from a field of six candidates.
The candidates include: Paras Bhende, Valentina Eyres, Dan Ginestra, Sheila Prior, Alex Rudich and Mariam Siddiqui.
Prior is the only incumbent.
Meanwhile, three candidates have filed to run for the Anoka-Hennepin School Board District 5 seat. The district includes parts of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, southern Coon Rapids and Fridley.
The candidates are Michelle Langenfeld, Scott Simmons, and Cyrus Wilson.
Nichole Hayes, the Brooklyn Park resident who currently represents District 5, did not file for reelection.
In the Hopkins School District, four candidates filed for four seats.
Shannon Andreson, Brooke Ann Roper, Kaj Thompson, and Zhiming Zhao filed for the race and are running unopposed.
