Teen Fatally Shot in Brooklyn Park ID’d
A 17-year-old girl that was fatally shot on a Brooklyn Park street last week has been identified by her family members.
Zoey Kpanlin was shot and killed on July 1.
According to a GoFundMe campaign that supports her family, her death came just days before her 18th birthday.
“Zoey was a happy teenager with so much talent,” wrote GoFundMe organizer Siah Borbor. “She [was] inspired to become a business mogul.”
Police found Kpanlin around 8 p.m. last Tuesday in the 7000 block of Lakeland Avenue North suffering from a gunshot wound.
She later died in the hospital.
Police told CCX News on Monday that they were continuing to investigate the case, but had not made any arrests.
