Suspects Toss Handguns During Crystal Police Chase
The Crystal Police Department has several suspects in custody after a weekend car chase.
According to the department, an officer tried to stop a vehicle that ran a red light on Saturday, Sept. 28.
An officer pursued the car, eventually disabling it using a PIT maneuver.
There were five people in the car and four of them ran from the scene. Police arrested the four suspects that attempted to flee.
A New Hope Police Department K9 team helped officers find two handguns that had been tossed away during the pursuit.
One of those handguns had been stolen and was modified with an auto sear to fire fully automatic.
Crystal police expect to forward the case to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for charges.
