State Fair Food Vendors Bring Taste of Summer to Robbinsdale
Customers at Robbinsdale’s Hy-Vee were treated to a taste of late summer on a dreary, rainy, cold April day.
Minnesota State Fair food vendors have once again set up for the weekend in the store’s parking lot, offering up staples of the Great Minnesota Get-Together like corn dogs, cheese curds, lemonade and mini donuts.
Teri Jones stopped by to get a corn dog and some cheese curds, and said the food helped chase away the gloom that Friday’s weather brought.
“It lifts you up a little bit,” Jones said. “It’s tasty, makes you feel good and it just brings you back to the old times, at the state fair, and all that good stuff.”
Jake Kuhn stopped by on what appeared to be his lunch break. He said he tries to make at least one trip to the fair in late August every year, often hitting the same stands.
“Always cheese curds and mini-donuts, always that, but I always try to try some news stuff, try to experience something new, right?” he said.
The food vendors will be set up at the store until Sunday.
