Standout Student: West Lutheran’s Nick Torgerson
Senior Nick Torgerson will graduate soon from West Lutheran High School. He’s a good student who also performs on stage as an actor and in the choir.
“My favorite thing to do at school would probably be helping setting up the technical stuff for the plays and concerts,” said Torgerson. “In addition to acting in the plays and performing in the concerts in the band and in the choir, I also act as the lighting designer. I deal with anything that has to do with setting up the lights or designing a light plot or calling companies for rentals. Then, there’s programming the light board so someone can control it during the show because I can’t control it. “
It’s not an exaggeration to say that West Lutheran will miss Nick after graduation.
“He has an idea or we have an idea collectively, he just runs with it,” says Greg Baures, the music director at West Lutheran High School. “He just makes things happen.”
Nick plans to attend Purdue University next year and pursue engineering.
