Standout Student: West Lutheran High School’s Caitlin Larkin
Senior Caitlin Larkin excels in many areas at West Lutheran High School.
“I try really hard at school and I think that definitely shows in my grades,” says Larkin. “I also partake in a lot of extra curricular activities and I’m also involved in yearbook, student council, National Honor Society, and those type of things here.”
Besides having a better than 4.0 GPA and being a captain of the basketball team this year, Caitlin also participates in the choir. This year, she sang in the school’s annual Christmas concert and also played piano in the concert as well.
“She has grown so much in confidence as a freshman to a senior. I have taught her English. So starting from writing and grammar as a freshman now to she’s in a college level literature class and she has grown so much in confidence as a student. It’s really great to see,” said West Lutheran High School English teacher Susan Decker. “One of the things that I really admire about Caitlin, obviously, is just her kindness to other people,” said Decker.
Larkin says she tries to treat people with respect everyday.
“This kind of goes along with our religion as this is a Christian school,” says Larkin. “You obviously want to treat everyone with love and respect just as you want to be treated.”
