St. Alphonsus Catholic Church’s Christmas Bazaar is Nov. 13-14
At. St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center preparations are underway for the annual Christmas Bazaar.
Organizers say this year’s event will be bigger and better.
“They were very sad last year when we had to cancel it,” said one of the organizers named Jan Althoff. “This year they’re very excited. It has shown with the donations we have received and the support we have received. And by how many people have said, I’m so glad that you’re figuring out how that we can do it.”
Jan and a dedicated group of volunteers at St. Alphonsus have been organizing the event for years. Each year’s preparations begin when the current event ends.
The bazaar features a grand raffle, homemade jellies and jams, wooden home decor, and gently loved jewelry. There are also Christmas decorations. Down in the school hallways will be a giant book, game and jigsaw puzzle sale. Their kitchen will be open cooking up American, Latino and African food. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand taking requests for Christmas.
The proceeds go toward the church and school, CEAP and other community charities.
The St. Alphonsus Christmas Bazaar begins Saturday November 13th at 9:00 a.m. and runs through Sunday November 14th. St. Alphonsus Catholic Church is located at 7025 Halifax Ave N, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429.
