Special Olympics Draws Cops to the Roof
When a bunch of police officers descend on a doughnut shop, the jokes sometimes write themselves.
But today’s doughnut run was special.
Officers from New Hope and Crystal were on the roof of the Dunkin’ in New Hope raising money for Special Olympics. They took in $1082.97 Friday morning and also got to talk to residents in a more relaxed environment.
“We get to interact with the community and also visit with kids that are coming up to get donuts and coffee with their mom and dad,” said Jason Ryan, a New Hope Police Officer.
This is the third year for the fundraiser at the New Hope Dunkin’ Donuts location. Maple Grove officers also participated in the fundraiser at the Maple Grove Dunkin Donuts location.
