Social Media Threats Prompt Increased Security at Robbinsdale Schools
Robbinsdale Area Schools are assuring parents that their children are safe after a week where social media threats ran wild.
As a precaution, Robbinsdale Area Schools increased security on Friday at the campuses of both Cooper and Armstrong High Schools. On Wednesday, a series of fights at Armstrong High School set off a chain reaction of social media chatter. Plymouth Police say the fights did not involve weapons and there were no injuries.
School superintendent Carlton Jenkins emailed parents on Thursday. The email said the school district and law enforcement are taking any social media threats seriously and are investigating them. Plymouth Police say the threats did not turn out to be credible.
