Six Semifinalists Named for Hopkins School Superintendent
The Hopkins School Board has named six semifinalists for the district’s superintendent role.
The winning candidate will replace current Superintendent Rhoda Mhiripiri-Reed, who announced plans not to renew her contract in December 2025.
The candidates are:
- Thomas Ahart, former Superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools in Iowa
- Andrew Beaton, assistant superintendent of North St. Paul – Maplewood – Oakdale Schools
- Rebecca Brodeur, senior director of teaching and learning at Robbinsdale Area Schools
- Michael Lehan, head of school at CATS Academy Boston in Massachusetts
- George Nolan, a principal at Hopkins Public Schools
- Michael Thomas, superintendent of Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools
Interviews are open to the public and start on Monday, April 13.
The Hopkins School District includes about two-thirds of the city of Minnetonka, about half of the city of Golden Valley, and smaller portions of St. Louis Park, Edina, Plymouth and Eden Prairie.
Nearly 7,000 students attend the district.
