Maple Grove Police Collect Hundreds of Backpacks
Hundreds of backpacks were donated during National Night Out neighborhood block parties. Maple Grove police teamed up with local nonprofit CROSS Services for the collection effort. They have a goal of getting 3,000 backpacks by early next week.
“I never knew there was much of a need as there is,” said Todd Strege with Maple Grove police. “I know last year they gave out a little more than 900 backpacks to families here just in Maple Grove, so there’s certainly a need for it.”
If you would like to donate, backpack drop-off sites are at Menards and Spire Bank in Maple Grove.
