School Spotlight: Heritage Christian Academy
On the surface it appears like Heritage Christian Academy is like other acclaimed schools in the CCX News viewing area. HCA attracts students in grades pre-K through 12.
According to Julie Herman, the admissions director at Heritage Christian Academy, students routinely test one to two grade levels above state averages. HCA students also graduate 100 percent of the time.
“What I would say is that it is so absolutely stellar academically here,” said Herman. “As I speak to alumni, these students, they will tell me time and again how well they write, spell, and compute in a superior way compared to their college peers.”
Nathan Crellin, class of 2018 alumni, said, “our teachers and our staff, they really care about us and they invest a lot of their time and their life into each one of us.”
While HCA offers the sports, music and arts you’d expect, the school feels its mission is what sets it apart.
“Our motto or mission would be to equip minds, engage hearts, and encounter Jesus Christ,” said Herman. “Truly on those three principals all of what we do needs to grow out of that.”
