Salvation Army, Cooling Centers Open for Heat Wave
The Salvation Army on Noble in Brooklyn Park is one of the cooling centers open during the heat advisory that’s expected this week.
A release from the nonprofit said that service centers will serve as cooling centers and they will be open during normal business hours for people needing respite from the heat.
“If you are out working in the heat, if you don’t have adequate shelter, if your apartment or house doesn’t have air conditioning, come on down to any of those locations and you can spend some time cooling off, hydrating, and staying safe,” said Brian Molohon from the Salvation Army.
Libraries, community centers and movie theaters are also open during business hours.
