Rush Creek Elementary Band Director Kevin Rassier Takes Final Bow
Rush Creek Elementary Band Director Kevin Rassier gave a final bow after a concert on Wednesday night. He will retire at the end of this school year. The band director says he’s taught more than 1300 students in his 20 years as band director at Rush Creek Elementary.
“In most of my years, I’ve taught elementary band,” says Kevin Rassier. “Kids still continue to love playing hot cross buns or easy folk tunes. The magic of making sound and learning how to play is still there.
In Rassier’s final concert, several former students joined the fifth grade musicians for a special number. Several of Rassier’s students are band directors themselves.
Rassier has taught for 36 years in Osseo Area Schools.
About 870 children attend Rush Creek Elementary in Osseo Area Schools.
