Rockford Road Bridge in Plymouth Partially Opens Monday
The Rockford Road bridge over I-494 is set to partially open at 5 a.m. Monday.
One lane will be open to traffic in each direction.
Drivers crossing the bridge should expect congestion and delays.
“Phase 2 involved the full closure of the Rockford Road bridge, all ramps remained opened but they completely removed the old bridge and built a new bridge that you can see behind me,” said Chris LaBounty, City of Plymouth Engineer. “The new configuration is going make for safer travel and less congestion for public traveling in the area, visiting our businesses as well as living in the area.”
The south half of the bridge will remain closed for an additional 2-3 weeks.
During the final phase of construction, the ramp from northbound 494 to Rockford Road will be closed through early November.
