Robbinsdale Schools Thankful After Referendum Vote
Voters overwhelmingly passed a levy referendum that will keep the Robbinsdale School District 281 from having to cut academic programs. District officials say they’ve cut almost $17 million from the budget and cutting more would lead to difficult choices.
“Last night there was a lot of big smiles,” says school board chair John Vento. “The outcome of this referendum with over 60 percent voter approval just really shows us that our community is behind our district and supports the work we’re doing. We couldn’t do it without their support.”
The next step includes budget meetings to discuss training for teacher and possible changes to start times.
