Robbinsdale Police Investigate Double-Homicide After Shooting Sunday Afternoon
Two people are dead, and one person is in custody after a shooting Sunday in Robbinsdale. A family member called 911, and police arrived on the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m., at a home in the 3700 block of Lake Drive. According to police, a man and a woman died from fatal gunshot wounds. Police say this is an open and active investigation as they search for a motive.
A neighbor says three people live inside the home, a bus driver, an older adult man, and his daughter. He says the victims are friendly people and that this situation is heartbreaking.
“It was a tragedy, you know. I didn’t hear any gunshots or anything. But I saw all the cars out there. It’s just sad to think that this happened to one of my neighbors,” said Leonard Campbell.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Park police arrested a man in connection with the double-homicide at a home on Rhode Island Drive. The SWAT team was called in for the arrest. However, Robbinsdale police say it doesn’t appear to be a random attack, and there is no threat to the public.
