Robbinsdale Park Improvements Include Fitness Equipment, Much More
The city of Robbinsdale is updating several of its parks. The latest installation at Lakeview Terrace Park offers an outdoor alternative to your daily gym routine.
Lakeview Terrace Park, at 3769 Crystal Lake Blvd., will now be home to a fitness court with permanent exercise equipment including an arm bike, a leg life and pull up station.
“This is actually a project that we’ve been working on for going on two and a half, almost three years,” said Matt Bazyk, Robbinsdale’s recreation services manager. “The idea is to have some exercise equipment next to the playgrounds so parents can participate, and work out, and do their thing and watch their kids safely.”
Robbinsdale spent about $60,000 on the project, according to Bayzk.
Installation is currently underway, and the court should be ready for use in a couple of weeks.

The playground equipment at Robbinsdale’s Manor Park is set to be replaced.
Changes are also coming to Manor Park, located at 3129 Abbott Ave. N.
The city has purchased more than $300,000 in new playground equipment to replace the playground at the park.
It’s expected to be installed in fall or early winter.
Bayzk said the upgrades are part of an effort to offer free spaces for community gathering.
“So people have work, they have home, where do they go to get that third space?” he said. “So we’re trying to work and kind of bring that back in. It kind of went away with COVID. Everyone got scared away and was told for good reason to kind of stay out of public places and we’re trying to bring them all back.”
Robbinsdale is also planning to build tennis and pickleball courts at Sanborn Park. Those are expected to open up this fall.
