Robbinsdale House Fire Hospitalizes One Person
Robbinsdale firefighters say they responded to a house fire on the 4000 block of Unity Avenue North at around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw flames and smoke coming from the second floor of the Robbinsdale house. It took firefighters about two hours to get the fire under control.
Robbinsdale Fire Chief Guy Dorholt says the home had three occupants. First responders took one occupant to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment related to smoke inhalation and burns. One firefighter was taken to North Memorial for slipping on an icy surface, Dorholt said.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire.
Meanwhile, firefighters urge residents to make sure their hydrants are clear of snow. Chief Dorholt says that was not a problem during this fire.
