Robbinsdale City Council Member Tyler Kline Explains ‘Not Guilty’ Plea
Robbinsdale City Council member Tyler Kline spoke in the council comment portion of the meeting on Tuesday night saying he anticipates being back in front of a trial judge for a settlement before his June 6 trial date.
Kline entered a not guilty plea to charges connected to driving while drunk and fleeing police.
According to the criminal complaint, in January, Kline drove the wrong way on Highway 100 and did not stop for police until officers rammed into his vehicle and forcibly removed him from the driver’s seat. Kline pleaded not guilty to the charges.
“It’s part of the process,” said Kline. “At no point in front of anybody have we tried to deny the recklessness of my behavior on that day. I’m sorry if going through this legal process is not okay with some people.”
Also in the meeting, Robbinsdale council member George Selman said he would not attend any goal sessions that Kline participates in because he feels Kline will not end up being a council member by the end of the year.
