Robbin Gallery Hosts Student Art from 11 Elementary Schools
The Robbin Gallery, located at 4915 42nd Avenue North, is hosting an exhibition that gives kids a chance to show off their talent.
Through Dec. 29, the gallery is hosting art created by hundreds of elementary school students in the Robbinsdale Area School District.
All 11 elementary schools in the district are part of the show.
Teachers who helped with the project encouraged students to take risks and share part of themselves.
“Art is such a beautiful space where there aren’t rigid rules or structures, especially in a society where we are hounding on test scores and standardized testing,” said Emma Withers, art teacher at Meadow Lake Elementary and the School of Engineering and Arts. “Art is the space where kids can come in and portray parts of themselves, make mistakes and be O.K. with it and learn real-life skills.”
