Rep. Kristin Robbins Announces Bid for Governor
Minnesota Rep. Kristin Robbins has announced she’s running for governor.
A Republican from Maple Grove, she was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 2018.
“People get to know me, they know I care about them, they know I care about their families and their communities, and I think I’ll get support from Minnesotans all over the state,” Robbins said.
She chairs the Fraud Prevention Committee, where she’s been critical of Gov. Tim Walz and DFL management of tax dollars.
Robbins is one of at least five Republicans that will compete for the nomination.

Rep. Kristin Robbins talks with CCX News at the Minnesota State Capitol. She announced on Aug. 20 that she’s running for governor.
“I welcome everyone in the race, I think it’s good to have a robust primary,” she said. “But I think I’m the most qualified to lead our state. I’ve been in the legislature for four terms now. I’ve chaired the fraud committee, I’m senior on taxes, I know how state government functions. But I’m also from the private sector.”
Other Republicans in the race include Scott Jensen, Kendall Qualls, Brad Kohler and Phillip Parrish.
Robbins plans to visit the Minnesota State Fair on opening day to meet as many people as possible.
Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz hasn’t said if he’ll run for a third term.
