Police: ‘Vague’ Threat at Plymouth School Not Credible
Following a mass shooting Wednesday involving students at a Minneapolis Catholic church, the Plymouth Police Department said it received word Wednesday about a threat directed at a school in Plymouth.
Police said that the threat was “vague” and turned out to be unsubstantiated.
“Upon further investigation, police have no reason to believe there is any credible threat to any schools in Plymouth,” a department spokesperson wrote in a press release.
The Wayzata and Robbinsdale Area Public School districts were initially notified of the report.
Students in those districts return to full in-person school on Sept. 2.
“The Plymouth Police Department continues to maintain regular police coverage in Plymouth and will continue providing extra patrols at Plymouth schools throughout the day, while continuing to monitor the tragic event that unfolded in Minneapolis earlier today,” the press release read.
