Police: Suspects Crashed Stolen Car Into Garage After Chase
A Brooklyn Park homeowner will have to make some unexpected repairs after a stolen vehicle crashed into their garage over the weekend.
According to Brooklyn Park police, a woman reported her car stolen after she left it to warm up Sunday morning.
Police on patrol saw the stolen vehicle on the road and attempted a traffic stop. However, the vehicle drove away.
After a short pursuit, the driver and passenger bailed out of the moving car near the 4000 block of 83rd Avenue North.
While the suspects fled the scene, the vehicle continued to roll away and struck a garage.
Both the car and garage were damaged, but no one was hurt.
“Neighbors directed officers to a residence in the 8200 block of Halifax Court, as a male matching the description of an occupant was seen running inside the residence,” reads a community press release from the Brooklyn Park Police Department. “Officers met wtih several parties and identified the potential suspect.”
Police have not made any arrests, but say they are continuing to investigate.
