Plymouth Police Use Pepper Spray To Break Up Large Disturbance
Plymouth police used pepper spray while dispersing a large gathering on Friday, June 7.
According to the Plymouth Police Department, officers responded to West Medicine Lake Park, at 1920 W. Medicine Lake Drive, at approximately 10 p.m.
Officers found several hundred people were at gathered at the park and beach.
Police characterized the gathering as “loud,” and “causing a disturbance.”
Deputies with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office assisted Plymouth police as they began clearing the gathering.
“Pepper spray was used to clear a group from the parking lot who were refusing to leave,” the spokesperson said.
No one was arrested or injured during the incident.
The incident is similar to the large youth gatherings that have occurred at parks in Brooklyn Park.
Gunshots were fired after two recent gatherings.
