Plymouth Police Lose Two K-9s in 2020, Fundraiser Underway
The Plymouth Police Department normally has three K-9 units, but after one K-9 retired and two got sick and had to be put down, the department is looking at unexpected costs.
Chief Erik Fadden says the department had to put down a K-9 named Odie early in 2020. A K-9 named Knight had to be put down in November.
Replacing one police K-9 costs around $12,000. The Plymouth Crime and Fire Prevention fund is stepping forward to raise money toward getting another police dog.
