Plymouth Kwik Trip Sells a Winning Mega Millions Ticket

A Plymouth Kwik Trip store is seeing more customers come through its doors after the store sold a one million dollar Mega Millions lottery ticket.

The Kwik Trip is located on Annapolis Lane in Plymouth.

A couple from Elk River purchased the winning one million dollar ticket. 

The total jackpot was at more than $500 million when the ticket was brought.

Clerk Sells Winning Ticket at Plymouth Kwik Trip

Clerk Tina Furlong knows the man who purchased the million dollar ticket.

Furlong was present when the customer found out he had the winning numbers.

“I printed up the ticket numbers, and he’s said, ‘that’s my family, that’s my family’s birthdays. I got to call my wife, I got to call my wife,’” Furlong recalled. 

“They don’t have a big bank account like some of those millionaires out there. They’re not millionaires, they’re just everyday, hardworking people like we are.”

Kwik Trip also receives a $5,000 dollar bonus for selling the winning ticket.  The store is considering using some of the money to make improvements to the store.
