Plymouth Interior Designer Gives Tips on Sprucing Up Your Zoom Calls
Whether it’s distance learning or Zoom meetings, Plymouth interior designer Jayne Morrison says to give a little bit of thought to your Zoom interview background.
“It’s so important to remind everybody how professional you are and it’s one simple thing you can do,” said Morrison.
Morrison suggests having a neat and tidy backdrop. She said practice makes perfect.
“The way to check it is take your phone around the house and take it to different spots within your house,” said Morrison. “Check the lighting and check the background, you want to make sure you’re professional and you want to get a good image of yourself particularly if its a job interview or if it’s with colleagues.”
Morrison adds that the background color depends on the person.
“You can see from my background that I have warm tones. For other people that have cool tones, then the background could be grays and blacks and even primary colors, but its different for each person,” she said.
Setting antiques and the right furniture could also make a huge difference.
If you don’t have anything to spice up your background, Morrison says a plain wall works too.
“A plain wall would probably better than a background that’s pretty messy and shows exercise equipments, pizza boxes or coffee cups,” Morrison said. “A plain wall can work, as long as there’s no distractions.”
