Plymouth Father Suffers Serious Injuries in Dog Attack
A Plymouth father is recovering after he was attacked by two dogs on Oct. 8.
Emil Mammedov was attacked by the pair of dogs outside his home, according to his neighbor’s post on GoFundMe.
Police say the incident occurred around midnight. One of the dogs tried to bite his throat, the neighbor said.
Mammedov sustained several injuries, including one on his face underneath his right eye.
Plymouth police characterized his injuries as “serious.”
“Emil is hopeful about his well being and recovery, but he fatigues fast and requires frequent breaks and lots of rest,” his neighbor wrote.
Mammedov is a cook and a father. According to the GoFundMe, he has a wife and four daughters. He was discharged from the hospital on Oct. 10.
The GoFundMe had raised nearly $28,000 of the $50,000 goal when this story was published.
“Further investigation led officers to a nearby residence where they located two dogs responsible for the attack,” said a spokesperson for the Plymouth Police Department. “The owner of the dogs has been identified and the dogs are currently being quarantined in a secure police facility.”
In the GoFundMe post, Mammedov’s neighbor said she believes the dogs were pit bulls.
