Plymouth Fans Show their Purple Pride
In case you didn’t know it, Vikings fever is at an all-time high. Fans showed off their purple pride Friday in Plymouth.
Vikings fans were literally jumping up and down in their seats with excitement, as KFAN’s Friday Football Feast broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings in Plymouth..
The place was packed with enthusiastic fans who dressed for the occasion. One guy wore a huge Vikings hat made out of buffalo horns and fur. While another man carved “Skol” on the side of his head.
“It is exciting. I mean, it is ridiculous around here,” said Vikings fan Hector Holguin. “Just the hype from everybody showing support for the Vikings this year. It’s incredible, absolutely love it.”
The last time the Vikings were in a Super Bowl was back in 1977, and with the possibility of the team getting there again, well, lets just say fans are beside themselves.
“I’ve been so pumped, since 98–pay back the Saints, the Falcons and now let’s clip some Eagles Wings,” yelled one fan. “They’re done baby!”
“It’s so much fun. I feel like finally, Minnesota gets to celebrate a team that’s winning and winning and it’s just awesome,” said Aly Schulz.
Fans say purple pride is having an impact on and off the field.
“I actually came here by myself, and these guys welcomed me in, and told me, hey, join us,” said Jeff Denkinger. “I’ve instantly met friends.”
Former players are also hungry for a win. Former Vikings Linebacker Ben Leber knows what the players are up against. He played in the 2010 NFC Championship game against the Saints.
“I know what these guys are going through right now, the anxiety, the nerves, the excitement. So, I’m happy for them. I just hope they can pull it off,” he said.
Fans young and old are hoping Vikings can make bring it home!
“Because they’re the best team ever,” said Sophia Wendorff.
