Police Investigate Killing of Plymouth Family’s Pet
A Plymouth family is without their family pet after someone shot the dog with a pellet gun. The Docken family says the incident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Porter, a springer spaniel, was in the back yard playing when someone stuck a pellet gun through the wooden fence and shot the dog, police said. Sarah Docken was at home at the time of the incident and heard Porter yelping and went to check on him.
“I got him in the house he seemed really shaken up, I didn’t know what was going on. He then started vomiting and went outside and just sat in the snow,” Docken said.
Docken and her husband rushed the animal to the veterinarian.
“We got to the vet within 20 minutes and, we were just so surprised when we heard he was shot. I thought someone had poisoned him. They told me he was shot, they tried to save him, but he passed away within an hour,” Docken said.
The family is offering a $1,000 reward. Meanwhile, Plymouth Police hope since it happened during daylight hours, that someone may have seen something suspicious. If you have any information, call Plymouth police.
