Pints & Paddle Plans Fall Opening
Pickleball players in Maple Grove are one step closer to swinging their rackets at Pints & Paddle‘s indoor courts.
The Maple Grove City Council approved Pints & Paddle’s liquor license this week.
The developers are building the restaurant and entertainment center is off Highway 610 and Maple Grove Parkway in The Grove Shopping Center.
Plans for the 33,000 square-foot facility include 10 indoor pickleball courts, a self-service beer hall and a restaurant. They’ll offer more than 70 beer taps, seltzer, cider, wine cocktails, and a menu from Malones Bar & Grill.
The owners of the business expect to start hiring staff after the Fourth of July holiday.
“Pickleball is probably one of the fastest growing sports right now,” said Tim Skaja, one of the owners of Pints & Paddle during a 2022 groundbreaking. “My wife, Tammy, and I love to travel and we were playing pickleball and seeing pickleball across the U.S. and thought ‘we need to figure out a way to bring this to Maple Grove.”
Pickleball is a racket-based sport similar to tennis, badminton and ping pong.
The facility is expected to open this fall.
