‘Pint for a Pint’: Memorial Blood Centers Offers Deal for Donors
Memorial Blood Centers is offering a sweet deal for donors this month: donate a pint, get a pint. The nonprofit now has locations in both Plymouth and Maple Grove.
With the Pint for Pint program, anyone who donates blood between Aug. 1 and Sept. 10 will get a voucher for a free beverage or an ice cream treat.
The vouchers are “a way of saying ‘thank you,’ to celebrate the gift that they’ve given to the community,” said Phil Losacker with Memorial Blood Centers.
Losacker said the need is critical, especially in August. Though donation levels fluctuate as the years go on, the need stays the same.
All blood types are needed. O Positive and O Negative are especially in demand right now.
“Summer is always a challenge — late summer can be particularly challenging to meet the needs of our community hospitals,” Losacker said. “We serve 42 hospitals in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.”
Memorial Blood Centers has a location in Plymouth. Another new location in Maple Grove also soft opened last week.
