Paver Problem Chips Away at Osseo’s Central Avenue
Osseo officials are dealing with paver problems. Some pavers in front of Osseo City Hall and near Steeple Pointe senior living building are chipped and deteriorating.
The Central Avenue Project was designed and installed in 2009. It is the corridor for most of Osseo business.
A committee recommends some areas on the west side of the Steeple Pointe block and both sides on the City Hall/Boerboom Park block need immediate replacement. Although many factors are at play, the problem is most likely due to snow removal.
“Most of the areas with the pavers have held up really well, but in areas where there’s possibly been heavier traffic, more aggressive snow removal, there is some deterioration,” explained Nancy Abts, city planner. “Some of the pavers have crumbled away, and in those areas, we’re looking at doing a replacement project.”
The City Council is talking about the issue on Monday, October 28th at 6 p.m. You can read more about the discussion here.
