Oxbow Creek Elementary Combines Literacy and Physical Education in “Scooter World”
Oxbow Creek Elementary decked out their gym in a Dr. Seuss theme for it’s 6th Scooter World program.
For seven gym days, students push themselves on scooters while going through a maze.
“Your core is worked really hard and you’re tired. We had an open house last Wednesday and we had adults go through it, after one time they said ‘I’m done I’m exhausted’. These kids go through it probably 2 maybe 3 times a session,” said Physical Education teacher Dan Masloski.
Staff took about 10 hours to set the gym up. Oxbow Creek’s volunteer service coordinator worked since summer to do the artistry on the walls.
Last year’s theme was Hogwarts and they’ve done minions too.
