Osseo Students, Teacher Receive School Supply Surprise from Office Depot
An Osseo Area Schools’ teacher got a big surprise from Office Depot on Wednesday.
Ann Petersen, a kindergarten teacher at Zanewood Community Elementary, was awarded furniture, teaching supplies, technology and tech support valued at more than $1,500. Petersen was selected as an All-Star Teacher.
“It’s very important to get all the things that you need, especially in that time of when we flow between models of in-person, hybrid, and distance learning. Now at home I’ll be equipped with a nice computer for distance learning and to keep up with technology,” said Petersen.
Office Depot also donated backpacks with school supplies to every student at both Zanewood Community and Fair Oaks Elementary schools. Fair Oaks principal Sara Looby-Morris said it was an honor to be chosen for the donation.
“It’s just a wonderful opportunity for students and families to be blessed in this crazy times of uncertainty with not having to worry about school supplies, getting ready for schools,” Looby-Morris said.
Osseo Area Schools was the only district in the state to be selected for Office Depot’s Start Proud! program this year.
