Osseo Small Businesses Hope for Strong Holiday Sales
Businesses all around the northwest metro area are preparing for small business Saturday. Osseo officials are trying to attract more people to the downtown area for the annual event. Infinity Floral is one of 20 businesses that are participating in Small Business Saturday in Osseo.
“We’re a flower shop, but we also have lots of fun gift items,” said Lori Haakonson, owner of Infinity Floral. The family-owned business has been in downtown for about five years. She says it’s a challenging time because of the nationwide supply chain situation.
Infinity Floral in Osseo is one of 20 businesses participating in Small Business Saturday.
“We’re having a hard time getting vases, and we’re having a hard time getting foam. We’re having a hard time getting flowers right now,” explained Haakonson.
Many Osseo companies are offering deals on Small Business Saturday to attract people to the experience of small-town shopping. So, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can shop, participate in workshops, and enter prize drawings.
“We don’t have the sort of sheer square footage in retail and other businesses that some of our neighboring communities can offer,” said Joe Amerman, Osseo’s community management coordinator. “We really hoping that some of these prizes will be a reason to come down and do some shopping.”
