Osseo School District Provides Free Meals for Families
School districts continue to provide food free of charge for families during the pandemic. The Osseo School District distributed about 2,200 free Spring Break meals for children 18 and younger Monday morning.
The meals included enough food to last the entire week. Jeff Ansorge, the director of food & nutrition services at Osseo Area Schools said this effort helps families.
“It’s good for the community. With the pandemic, a lot of people lost jobs,” said Ansorge. “There’s a great need out there for meals for people. It’s good to provide support in the meal aspect to provide them with food.”
When students come back to school, they’ll still get free meals. On Fridays, the school district also has an ongoing free meal distribution program serving anyone 18 and younger.
