Osseo Residents Spruce Up Park As City Gets Ready for First Major In-Person Event
The city of Osseo is getting ready for its first major in-person event since COVID-19 restrictions shut everything down last year. A vintage car show will be held at Boerboom Veterans Park on May 22.
Two residents, Dave and Roseanna Garibaldi, are busy getting the park in shape. The avid gardeners live across from the park.
“I noticed nobody was taking care of the plants. They weren’t pruning them, and weeds were growing up,” said Roseanna Garibaldi. “I just said, ‘you know what? I’m going to start doing it myself.'”
For the past three years, the couple has been working to make sure the flowers and other greenery blossom.
While spreading mulch, Dave Garibaldi said, “We’ve been both really blessed in our lives, and we’ve always had what we need, and we want to give back.”
The first year they volunteered, the city liked their work so much that they hired the Garibaldis. This spring, the Osseo residents are racing against the clock to get ready for the Intermarque Vintage Foreign Car Show. The Garibaldis don’t consider this work, but an act of love.
“This is our home, and we want it to look pretty. We want it to look beautiful,” said Roseanna Garibaldi.
Added her husband, Dave, “We feel like beautifying the city is something that we can do and maybe make life a little more pleasant for other people.”
