Osseo Police Investigate Package Thefts
The Osseo Police Department needs your help identifying a group of thieves that stole several packages last week.
Police Chief Shane Mikkleson said there were multiple reports of a vehicle acting suspiciously in the areas around 4th, 5th and 8th Avenues NE.
Police were able to identify the vehicle as a silver 1996 GMC Jimmy.
Several witnesses have described the car as being a rusty, white or tan SUV, similar to an Explorer or Suburban. Police said there appeared to be three people occupied in the vehicle.
Mikkleson said social media posts lead to videos and other evidence for possibly arresting somebody in connection with the thefts.
“We ask people to figure out a way to get the package out of their front and bring it to the back, a side gate or somewhere else,” said Mikkleson. “When in doubt, call it out. We have officers in the area. Our community is small so what we’re asking is if you see something suspicious or out of place please call 911.”
Due to the novel coronavirus, many stores across the state are temporarily closed. As a result, there is an increase of online shopping.
