Osseo School District Hands Out Food Curbside
The Osseo School District is now offering breakfast and lunch to both students and non-students who are 18 years and younger. This is thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Families can go to any of the schools within the district from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to pick up curbside meals. Families do not need to go to the school the child attends. Also new to the program, children do not need to be present to receive meals.
“We make sure the meals are available. Families have been coming and telling us how grateful they are. Obviously we don’t know their needs but they’re telling us it is great we are providing the opportunity to pick up those meals,” said Ifran Chaudhry, assistant director of nutrition services for Osseo Area Schools.
If families have barriers picking up curbside meals, they can contact the district’s nutrition services team at 763-315-7691.
