North Hennepin Hosts Jan. 28 Event to Help People Cope with COVID-19 Grief
North Hennepin Community College will host a virtual event to help people cope with loss and grief due to COVID-19.
The event on Thursday, Jan. 28, aims to help people recognize loss and provides technique to cope. NHCC staff say it’s not just aimed at helping people grieve after the death of a loved one.
“Grief is also any loss, it can be losing their jobs, it can be the loss of your friends, families, loved ones. Not being able to spend time with them. Even the loss of a normal schedule everyday. It’s a process that we go through, it’s grieving,” explained Amy Harms Hoad, the human services faculty/program coordinator.
The first 150 people who register and attend the webinar will receive a care package in the mail. There will also be prizes of therapy lamps and Fitbit fitness trackers.
