Newsmakers: Estate Planning ‘Boot Camp’ Coming Up in Maple Grove
Anyone with questions about estate planning can attend a series of “Boot Camp” seminars put on by a Twin Cities law firm in Maple Grove next month.
“People are confused or they’re just not on their game and they don’t know where to start,” said Susan Peterson-Lerdahl, an attorney with Henningson and Snoxell Law Firm. “So, we’re giving them that opportunity, really in a very comfortable setting.”
Peterson-Lerdahl and other attorneys will be on-hand at Maple Grove Community Center on Tuesday, Sept. 12 to offer information and answer questions.
“There’s a lot of new words, jargon here that we use in our work that people may not be familiar with,” she said. “So we want to give people a flavor of who we are as people and how we work with others.”
Estate planning doesn’t require a law degree, Peterson-Lerdahl said. It does require an understanding of what your family members want and need when a life-changing event occurs.
“Foundational plans, basic plans, can be very valuable,” she said. “It’s so important to have a basic plan, because things can go wrong when you least expect them.”
