This week was National Police Week. Maple Grove Police Chief Eric Werner spoke with CCX News reporter Rusty Ray about a range of topics including the city’s police recruitment efforts.
“It has been pretty tough,” said Werner.
Werner said positions used to attract hundreds of applicants. Now it’s far fewer, he said, with 16 applicants applying for four currently open police officer roles.
