New Mural Welcomes Students at Hennepin Tech
A new mural at Hennepin Technical College is almost complete. You’ll now see it in front of the Brooklyn Park Campus building.
“The artist really represented what we feel is important, the important values of the college to be diversity, innovation and most of all providing a quality technical education to our community,” said Nairobi Abrams, Hennepin Technical College Chief Advancement & Communications Officer.
Artists, including more than a dozen students and staff, painted the murals on canvas at an art studio in Minneapolis. The artist talked about the process with CCX News in a previous story.
The mural’s goal? Creating a welcoming environment.
“Over the past semester, faculty, staff and students participated in a series of information sessions and focus groups to come up with what we think best represents Hennepin Technical College,” explained Abrams.
Finishing touches will be completed this week. A mural will also go up at Hennepin Tech’s Eden Prairie campus. Staff hopes the mural will remain a campus focal point for many years to come.
