New Hope Volunteer Produces “Northwest City Politics”
Since 2004, Juanita Hoffe has produced a show that airs weekly on what is now CCX Create. On “Northwest City Politics,” Hoffe interviews city leaders about what’s happening in the nine northwest suburbs.
“A lot of times in the cities, people don’t keep up with things and things get passed and we don’t find out about what’s going on,” says Hoffe. She created the show so people could learn more about topics and issues at the city level.
Hoffe also invites candidates running for city office to talk about issues on her show. This year she interviewed more than 30 candidates running for city council or mayor.
“The League of Women voters does a very good debate and we are not doing a debate,” says Hoffe. “It’s an opportunity to introduce themselves to the city so the voters can know more about them.”
